1/2 kg sauerkraut leaves
1 1/2 cup rice
1 1/2 cup bulgur
10 dark olives
1 apple
1 stalk celery
1 tbsp dried celery
1 tbsp dried mint
6 pimento seeds
3 bay leaves
salt
pepper
method
Soak the rice in hot water.
Cut and prepare the sauerkraut leaves. Chop the olives, apple and celery.
In a bowl mix the bulgur, soaked rice, olives, apple and celery. Season with salt and pepper. Add the dried celery and mint and mix well.
Roll sarmi using a tbsp of the rice-bulgur mixture and 1 sauerkraut leaf.
Arrange in a pot. Spread pimento and bay leaves and pour enough water to cover all. Cook on medium heat for 50 minutes.
