A traditional recipe for St. Nicholaus Day carp by na2na3.com
This recipe, including variations, is prepared all over Bulgaria for St. Nicholas Day.
3-4 dried plums
1 celery stick
1 tbsp walnuts
3-4 sauerkraut leaves
Wash the carp. Chop the carrot, onion, dried plums, celery and walnuts.
In a pan heat some oil. Add the onion and sweat for a minute. Add the carrot, celery, plums and walnuts. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Grease a baking pan. Place the carp and stuff it with the vegetables. Wrap some sauerkraut leaves around.
Bake in a preheated 200°C degree oven for an hour.
